Glucaferm®

Glucaferm®: The collapsed yeast cells that are emptied inside (yeast is no longer alive!) can be clearly distinguished. Only the (13),(16)-ß-D-glucan containing cell walls, the so-called "cell ghost", remain.

Glucaferm®  - is an enriched fraction of the cell wall's pure yeast culture derived from the strain saccharomyces cerevisiae, which stands out on account of its highly-molecular carbohydrate content (polysaccharides), which are in particular the (13),(16)-ß-D-glucans.

Effect
  • According to the most recent scientific knowledge obtained, (13),(16)-ß-D-glucans are effective biotic activators, which fortify the immune system of both humans and animals (health ingredients).
  • On the other hand, in glucans made up of glucose molecules in so-called 14 linkages, no effects were detected to have been exerted on the immune system.
  • As natural food ingredients, yeast-derived glucans such as Glucaferm® do not have any side effects nor are they known to cause allergic reactions.

In Detail
  • To the natural category of glucans belong numerous substitutes, which may be obtained from microorganisms, in some cases even from more highly developed plants.
  • Such glucans differ from one another not only on account of their chemical structure but also as regards their correlations involving structure, properties and effect.
  • The decisive factor for the stimulating effect exercised by these macromolecular saccharides on the immune system, are such combined 13-main chains of glucans, that are of a specific chain length, with characteristic 16-branch points as exhibited by betaglucans originating from saccharomyces cerevisiae and therefore Glucaferm® as well.

How is (13),(16)-ß-D-glucan containing Glucaferm® produced?

  • (13),(16)-ß-D-glucan is a polysaccharide that is a natural constituent in the cell walls of yeast and mushrooms and responsible for their structure and resistance.
  • This product deriving from cells of a pure baker's yeast culture's strain saccharomyces cerevisiae is extracted and processed through as series of extremely precuise and delicate procedures.
  • After the yeast cells have been carefully broken up with yeast-own enzymes (autolysis), soluble constituents are removed, the polysaccharides enriched, purified and dried.
  • According to the number of multi-staged isolation procedures passed, the corresponding fraction with the desired content of (13),(16)-ß-D-glucan is obtained.
  • Our basic product Glucaferm® goes through these production steps several times. This guarantees a higher content of efficient cell wall fractions and excludes the presence of living yeast cells.

Glucaferm®
  • is a betaglucan, which has been subjected to a special enrichment process with mannoproteins
  • has been broken up with yeast-own enzymes (autolysis)
  • is stabilised by fat reduction
  • may be combined and structured with other active components

Consequently, Glucaferm® is turned into a special biotic activator, whose natural impact is based on (13),(16)-ß-D-glucan.

Glucaferm® is available in the forms
  • Glucaferm® 30
  • Glucaferm® 70 (presents a higher concentration of (13),(16)-ß-D-glucan.)
